Excellent summary about some of the biggest problems in this space. Also really good choice of example images to illustrate the problem. I’ve read the book and it’s really great. It’s hard to believe that so few people are talking about these problems. On the other hand there are more than enough articles on Medium/Reddit with overfitted lines like in your “Avoided classical overfitting” point, where people don’t even realize that there is something wrong.
